I’m feeling a lot more hopeful for our dear planet in the wake of Pope Francis’ plea for the Earth and a review of rampant capitalism. It’s great to see some moral leadership being taken by him and the Dalai Lama to show the world another way….given that really we have no choice, we’re all in this together!

“There are grounds for optimism when you think that in the early 20th century few people used the word compassion, but nowadays even politicians talk about it. Similarly, a century ago hardly anyone thought about ecology and the environment the way they do today. What’s more, in the early 20th century people regarded war and the use of force as the only way to resolve problems, and today that has changed.” ~Dalai Lama
It may be slow like water on rock, and sometimes it feels like we’re going backwards, but it’s true…… things are slowly getting better!
If only the reality of your painting would sink into more human minds!!

Oh, it can’t be true. Another trick? Just too perfectly beautiful.
It sucks, the way we take care of our environment; the throw away society. And there are just so many of us.

There are way too many of us. I remember learning about the population crisis at school (nearly 50 years ago now!) and in all that time we haven’t done a thing about it…..but nature has a way of dealing with these issues. I guess climate change is our way of getting nature to act for us!

Hope is just like that ray of sunlight in the shadowed forest, in your photograph! Both the message and images are wonderful. 🙂

Yes, I look at ours too with some despair, and the dominance of money/power in the hands of the few globally which doesn’t necessarily give us much hope in the short term. But as The Dalai Lama suggests, if we take a longer view of where we’ve come from.progress seems painfully slow, but its there.
