In the field of opportunity…

its planting time again! – (HT to Neil Young).

Since we started in 2002 the “Friends of Buckley Road Reserve” with the help of the WCC, we have planted more than 6,000 trees into the reserve that runs the length of Houghton Valley.

Trees are the earth’s endless effort to speak to the listening heaven.

We’ve just had another 500 trees delivered so its planting time again…

      1. Mostly been focusing around the pond with natives … still a lot to do. BUT the great news is we’ve become friends with an ecologist (his knowledge staggers me – I think he knows EVERY plant’s name in Maori and Latin!) and we have some exciting ideas for making this a bigger enterprise/business. Still in the “fleshing out” phase. Love planting – weeding not so keen on but it is satisfying when it’s done!
