My first trip to Mapua was an inspiration. A very pretty coastal village near Nelson set the scene for the first of what looks likely to be a monthly painting class.
The class was the result of the persistence of one of my former Wellington students, now a very fine artist in her own right, Lynette Graham, who has been asking me to go down there for many years since leaving Wellington. I’m glad I finally did and am very grateful to Lynette for all her efforts to make it happen.
I was really impressed by a great group of painters and the quality of the artwork there. It seemed that everybody made some kind of discovery.
It makes my heart sing to share my years of painting experience like this and I come away really inspired to get back into my own studio…
My Wellington class are working hard on their bi-annual exhibition next month and next weekend I’m resuming my classes in Palmerston North – there’s still a couple of places left there if you want to join us!
Spirit has a way to conjure things to happen all for a reason. It sounds like it did your soul good.
