Kate and I had a very happy New Year with friends in Norway. They have a stunning cottage (a part of which dates back to the 16th century!) in the mountains about three hours north of Oslo near the Hemsedal ski resort. After spending four weeks in the very mild and wet northern winter it was great to get into a real winter wonderland, and with temperatures down to minus 11C it was about as cold as this kiwi has ever been! We had a first go at cross country skiing and along the way I managed to get a few photos of the magical monochrome landscape, the only thing missing was the sun, oh and a sight of the mountains!

Thank you for liking βReturn.β Nice post! π Norway has some beautiful landscapes, but -11 degrees Celsius is too cold for me! However, I am glad that you enjoyed the arrival of the New Year. I hope 2016 will be a wonderful year for you. π

Nice photos and I like the idea of fireworks in the snow however having said that I am terribly allergic to snow lol As long as it stays in the mountains I am comfortable.
