In my travels I’ve come upon places that seemed to transcend the everyday, they are so far removed from my commonplace that they completely challenge the way I’ve taken the world to be….
and how I’ve taken myself to be…..
it’s like stepping through a doorway into another world.“Doorways to Another World” Khuri Village, Rajasthan India, oil on board, 90x60cm
I've been a full time painter of light for 40 years - self taught and independent, a former President of the NZ Academy of Fine Arts.
I'm into sustainability, planting trees and spiritual ecology. This includes growing award winning Lavender oil and olive oil.
I'm a student of the Diamond Approach; a psycho-spiritual path to realizing and developing our fullest potential

Like the concept of the painting, interesting! Maybe we could extend it and look at our own homes… in being each door opens to a different room especially our childrens as this is there world..some doors open to shared rooms and some are private, some are for study, so each room ibecomes a world of its own. This just got my mind going.
That’s so cool! Each doorway can be a portal into a whole new universe! Linked together or separate…..
This compound had that about it, it seemed a whole universe away from home!
